Erin Travis was a girl growing up in Vicksburg Mississippi. She had one sister, Shannon. Their parents, Emma and Chris, did their best to give them a good life."Mama, when will Daddy be home?" Shannon asked. "He won't get home 'til after y'all go to bed." she said. If only he wouldn't have to work so hard. Erin thought. "At least we had fun for your birthday, Erin." Shannon said. The door suddenly slammed. "Daddy! You're home!" Erin shouted. Her father didn't speak, he didn't even look down at her. "Children, go to your room." Mrs. Travis said. "Yes Mama." They said and walked to their room. This room was very small, just enough room to fit a bed, a bookshelf, and a desk. The girls got dressed for bed, and crawled in bed together."What do you think happened?" Shannon asked her older sister. "I don't know." she answered.
