Led to Him. Chapter 2.
Erin woke up in the middle of the night. Moonlight shone through the small window. She glanced at the small clock on the wall. It's only 11:35? Wow! she thought. She then heard a whisper. She looked in doubt at Shannon, who was snoring softly. Erin crept into the hallway between her room and her parents room. She pressed her ear to the door, and heard her mother talking. "I just don't think we should tell the girls. It would hurt their feelings." she said. "Well, I think we should. They need to know." Mr. Travis said in a raised tone of voice. "Shh! You'll wake them." Mrs. Travis said to her husband. Erin was full of questions. What do I need to know? Why are they whispering? She froze when she heard footsteps walking to the door. She finally crept back into her room. She sat up in bed, thinking. She soon lied down, and went to sleep. Erin was woken up by her sister the next morning. "Come on Erin! You'll be late for breakfast." Shannon said. Erin was in no hurry to get dressed that morning. She didn't want to see her parents that morning. She trudged down the stairs. "Girls, we have somthing to tell you." Mr. Travis said. "Your father has lost his job" Mrs Travis finished. The girls hearts skipped a beat. Their father couldn't lose his job! "But, you need the money! How could you lose your job?" Shannon demanded to know. " The reason is, that they don't have the money to keep all the employees." Mr. Travis explained. "Well, we are going to church, right?" Erin asked. "No, we can't. Your father had to sell our car to get the extra money" their mother told them. Erin's heart was full of fear and hate. She knew it was wrong, but she couldn't help it. why did God let this happen? He knows we need all the money! she thought. She walked slowly to her room to change out of her Sunday dress.
